Availability Īs of the writing of this article, no playable demo of Star Wars 1313 has been released. On April 3rd, 2013, Disney announced that they would be shutting down LucasArts and giving the rights to develop any future Star Wars games with EA. Later it was revealed that Star Wars 1313 was put on hold in 2012. Initially, LucasArts assured fans that that acquisition would not affect the development of the game. On October 30th, 2012, Disney purchased Lucasfilm and all subsidiaries. Developer Johnathan Cooper who worked on Star Wars 1313 has since revealed that there would be a droid assistant to move objects throughout the level. Players would take a third-person perspective when firing at enemies. With the footage that has been shown, players would control a bounty hunter as they navigated third the 1313th level of the planet Coruscant. While no official plot has been revealed, former developers who have worked on the game have confirmed that the game was about Boba Fett as a young adult and would serve as a backstory for the character Boba Fett. Though everything in the trailer was not final and the characters were just test characters. The game demo received a number of E3 awards including GameSpots Best of E3.
During E3, it was revealed that Star Wars 1313 was a collaborative effort between LucasArts and Lucasfilm as motion capture technology was being used during the development of the game. The footage above is gameplay capture from the 2012 E3 demo of Star Wars 1313. A demo and trailer were both showcased at E3 2012. While only a short demo was shown, more about Star Wars 1313 was going to be revealed at E3 of that same year.

Star Wars 1313 was first announced on June 1st, 2012, during a segment on the television show GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley. With LucasArts having games that had mixed to negative reception being released, they knew they needed to try something different to prove that they were capable of competing. There’s never been a quality Star Wars title with its most-famous bounty hunter as the lead, and no, Boba Fett in Fortnite doesn’t count. Many still hope that Disney might allow another studio to complete the project, although that’s quite a pipe dream.Īnyone knee-deep in The Book of Boba Fett will undoubtedly feel some bitterness watching the footage. It was a devastating loss for everyone involved, and even the subject of Jason Schreier’s Blood, Sweat, and Pixels. Few video game cancellations have hurt as Star Wars 1313’s did, but at least we can finally see what it looked like in motion.
